Dau Jok (Sphinx Class of 2014), captain of the Penn Men’s Basketball team and founder of the Dut Jok Youth Foundation, was recently honored with the U.S. Basketball Writers Association’s Most Courageous Award. Jok will be presented with the award at the NCAA Basketball Tournament Final Four in April.
Earlier this month, Jok was named to the Allstate Good Works Team by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Jok was selected for this award, one of the highest honors for community service in the college basketball world, out of a pool of 117 nominees. He is one of five Division I players named to this team.
In January, Jok was also named one of the five finalists for the Wooden Citizenship Cup by the Athletes for a Better World Foundation.
